Meet Kirstin
Kirstin Gove is a senior communications leader, broadcaster, presenter and event chair with more than 30 years of experience across journalism, strategic communications and the energy sector.
She began her career in television news as an STV news anchor, reporter and broadcast journalist, becoming a well-known face across the North East of Scotland. That background in live broadcasting shaped a career built around communication: understanding complex subjects quickly, asking the right questions, finding the story and engaging audiences with clarity, confidence and authority.
Kirstin went on to build a substantial career in senior strategic communications, developing particular expertise in the energy sector. She has held Head of Communications positions in a number of energy roles and today works at senior leadership level in offshore wind.
Her communications career spans reputation, media, stakeholder engagement, strategic positioning and senior counsel, with a particular strength in translating complex subjects into clear and compelling narratives. Working in a high-profile and rapidly evolving sector has also given her a deep understanding of the relationship between organisations, industry, communities, policymakers, stakeholders and the media.
Alongside these senior communications roles, Kirstin has maintained a significant career as a conference chair, event host and moderator.
Over the years, she has chaired and hosted hundreds of conferences, panel discussions, corporate events and industry conversations, bringing together her broadcasting experience, subject knowledge and ability to engage confidently with speakers and audiences alike.
This combination of experience gives Kirstin a distinctive presence on stage. She is equally comfortable leading a high-level industry discussion, interviewing senior figures, moderating a complex panel or guiding an audience through a major event. Her style is informed, assured and engaging, with the professionalism to handle serious subject matter and the flexibility to respond naturally in a live environment.
She is also available for selected presenting and voice work, including corporate video, voiceover and filmed content, particularly where subject credibility, warmth and professional delivery are important.
Kirstin's wider professional portfolio therefore reflects the breadth of a career spent communicating in many different forms: as a journalist, senior communications leader, adviser, presenter, interviewer, conference chair and host.
Her corporate communications work remains focused on her senior role within offshore wind. Alongside that, she welcomes selected opportunities to chair conferences, host events, moderate panels, present corporate content and provide professional voiceover work.
This website is a showcase of that experience: more than three decades of communication, leadership, broadcasting and live engagement, brought together in one professional portfolio.
A career born at Grampian TV
Kirstin began her broadcasting career with Grampian Television in 1995, initially working as a reporter before quickly moving into presenting. Within a year she got her first break at presenting on the station’s flagship North Tonight and STV News at Six becoming one of the programme’s main news anchors.
During more than 15 years with Grampian TV and, later, STV, she worked across news, current affairs and regional programming as a reporter, presenter, journalist and newsgathering editor, as well as presenting a number of other programmes, studio debate shows, and contributing to political coverage at Westminster.
It was a career built on live television, strong editorial judgement and the ability to communicate clearly under pressure - skills that have remained central throughout her subsequent work in senior communications, events and presenting.
